Novel biomaterials

There are 7 internationally-leading laboratories contribute strength to novel biomaterials design and development,

focusing on bioactivity, cell-associated environmental responsiveness, and controllable or inducible intrinsic porosity.

The team has experience in driving entirely new biomaterials from the laboratory drawing board to clinical testing

and market entry.

Angiogenesis

There are 5 exceptionally strong laboratories in angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis provide bring

state-of-the-art angiogenesis science into the project’s realm, having experiences ranging from

fundamental angiogenesis biology to clinical trials.

Imaging

2 outstanding laboratories bring complementary methods of imaging and analysis of complex angiogenic

Structures in 3D into the project to quantitatively compare approaches.

Application

9 world-leading laboratories focus on clinically relevant tissue engineering applications demanding

angiogenic responses, critically testing the consortium’s approach in bone, skin, cardiac muscle,

skeletal muscle, and peripheral nerve repair. The team has experience ranging from basic

molecular and cellular studies to animal and clinical investigations.

Industrial partners

AngioScaff’s 11 industrial partners are integral to the entire research and development plan and

provide a route for dissemination of scientific and technological developments.

The consortium is pleased to have most of Europe’s major and rising players in tissue engineering and biomaterials.
